Listen to the Mayor as Mr. Hank Hohenstein attempts to read a statement in support of an election. He had been told earlier in the week that it was "tradition" that appointed Councilors served until the end of their term, which is incorrect and against the City Charter. Link to City audio here.
Mayor Richardson and two of our four Councilors have been appointed and cannot serve indefinitely. Our City Charter mandates that appointed members serve only until the next available election. The City appointed an unpopular Mayor, and a Councilor who has previously quit twice. The deadline for the November 2025 General election has come and gone. Several residents have already contacted the City to request an election. If you support new leadership, you can help by contacting our City. Let them know you want appointed positions on the ballot for May 19th, 2025!
